As parents, you need to make sure that your children are properly taught in all matters. We understand that the Core Curriculum, which is interested i making sure that teachers are tested by what their students have learned, has deemed handwriting "untestable" and has removed it from the basic educational requirements that are taught in the elementary schools. Many schools have opted to keep it in, but do not enforce its practice outside of the 3rd grade. Here are some suggestions and activities that you can do:

Become a Writing Coach. Join a Cursive Club or a Writers Workshop. Many schools and libraries are now offering handwriting as club activities. Maybe your friends think writing in cursive is writing in code, come and learn how to crack the code! Learn how to develop a signature. Cursive makes you a better speller, reader and writer. Join in!
